Atoka Water Main

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

The City of Oklahoma City selected MacArthur Associated Consultants, LLC (MAC) to design 12.7 miles of the 72-inch Atoka Pipeline Raw Water Transmission Line, which extends from 1.44 miles west of State Highway 3 (SH-3) to the Macomb Pump Station. MAC teamed with Alan Plummer Associates on this project. The Atoka Pipeline stretches from Lake Atoka to Lake Stanley Draper. To allow for future expansion, a 100-foot wide easement was acquired as part of the original pipeline project, with the original pipeline being constructed 25 feet North of the easement centerline, the existing 60-inch pipeline was constructed in 1961. The project was unique in many ways, it includes a project-specific set of CAD Standards, Design Standards, and Specifications. MAC coordinated design efforts and the pipe procurement process with CDM Smith, the Oklahoma City Water Utility Trust’s (OCWUT’s) System Engineer, and coordinated environmental mitigation activities with the OCWUT’s environmental consultant. Additionally, MAC coordinated all Geotechnical, Corrosion Protection, and Utility Location services. For the construction phase of the project, services included full-time construction administration and inspection.
